  • Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with utilizing synonyms for keyphrases in your posts. To utilize synonyms for keyphrases in your posts using Rank Math, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open the post where you want to add synonyms for keyphrases.
    2. Scroll down to the “Rank Math SEO” meta box below the post editor.
    3. Click on the “Edit Snippet” button.

Once you’re in the snippet editor, you can add synonyms for your focus keyphrase under the “Focus Keyword” field. Simply click on the “Add Synonyms” button and enter the synonyms you’d like to use.

If you encounter any issues while following these steps, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will be happy to assist you further.

There is NO “Add Synonyms” button

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and bringing your concern to our attention.

Please ignore the reply from the RankBot. Unfortunately, we don’t have this option right now.

However, there is an update pending from our developers to allow variations and/or synonyms to be recognized much like the search engines do to make the tests reflect the actual values.

Once we include this, we’ll update our changelog accordingly: https://rankmath.com/changelog

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

So the rankbot just made that up? I wasted hours trying to chase that down. Some of your literature links even suggest using synonyms but gives no place to do that. Link here:

    https://rankmath.com/blog/seo-content-guide/

It says, “Place the keywords in places that are contextually appropriate. Use synonyms and variations of your target keywords to reduce redundancy and make your content more engaging.”

When that is written into the support pages, one would assume there is place to do that.

On one of my pages the Content AI Score wants me to use my key phrase 13 times! That is hard to write in “natural language” with that many without the use of synonyms.

Thank you for clarifying, but you should have written somewhere in your support that synonyms are not supported.

    Hello,

As stated by my colleague above the Focus keyword feature at the moment only detect exact value. Our developers are working on making the focus keyword “smart” to be able to detect synonyms. In practise you should use synonyms and variations to make your content more engaging as your content is primarily meant for human users and not bots and ultimately Google will send more traffic your way via ranking the more people engage with your content.

Please note that these SEO tests are only for your reference and don’t affect the actual SEO performance of your site. So, you can safely ignore the tests in this case or use a filter to disable any test that do not apply to your use case on your site: https://rankmath.com/kb/disable-seo-content-tests/

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

    Thank you.

Is there a timetable for this to be implemented? I was just about to move from Yoast to Rankmath on one of my sites but I want to ensure that products with multiple keyphrases and synonyms also transfer over to Rankmath.

    Hello,

Currently, “Focus keywords synonyms” is under development and will soon be available in our plugin. We don’t have an ETA for it now. We will inform all our users once it is available.

Hope that helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Hello,
