I have enabled the Strip Category Base function which does successfully remove the /category/ link, however rather than using the static pages that I have set up it goes to the default category list page. This does work perfectly if I add “.” to the category base, however this add /./ into the sitemap created by RankMath.
After searching I have found a php script that can be added to the functions.php file that prioritises the static pages over the categories however that breaks the static pages, and removes images & footers etc
Please can you assist me with this issue.
