Strip Category Base function does not work

The strip base category option, only removes the category slug and does not strip or remove the actual category or the parent category.

For instance, when the strip base category slug is enabled, it will change from URL 1 to URL 2:

FROM URL 1: https://domain.com/category/parent-category/child-category/
TO URL 2: https://domain.com/parent-category/child-category/

In case the above-mentioned is not the exact issue that you are talking about, please clear your website’s cache and see if the issue persists ?
