Hi, I have a similar issue and I need help. I have 6 total links on my Sitemap Settings in my website WP console. Only 2 of them has been successful in Google Search Console Sitemaps. The other 6 has a status of Couldn’t fetch. I have tried removing and adding them again several times but it is still not working.
    My website is ifixdmv.com.

Thank you for your help in advance.

    Hi Umar,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

It sounds like you are serving a cached version of your sitemap to Google and your visitors.

You must add all the sitemap file locations to the exclusion list in your Cache plugin so that the sitemaps are never cached. These are the files you must add to the exclusion list:

    sitemap_index.xml
    post-sitemap.xml
    page-sitemap.xml
    category-sitemap.xml
    product-sitemap.xml

This is required since Sitemaps are already cached internally by Rank Math and we flush them everytime you post something new and with our cache – you won’t see the issue you are seeing in Google.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

You only have to add the sitemap_index.xml file to the Google Search Console, not any other file since they will be found using the sitemap_index.xml file.

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hi Alberto,
    Thanks for your assistance.
Please forgive me for been ignorant. I am a newbie and am not sure of what am doing.
Are you saying that the only link I need to add to Google Search Console is the one with
sitemap_index.xml? What about the one with page-sitemap.xml?
    Thank you for your understanding.

    Umar
