Some types of automatic redirects not working

#16056

    Rank Math free

I wasn’t using a category for posts until recently, and now I do. I changed the default category name and then I added the default /%category%/ path in my permalinks for posts. But the posts didn’t automatically redirect to include the updated path. I had to redirect them manually.

    So from domain.com/post-name/ to domain.com/articles/post-name

The same issue seems to be happening for product tags. I chose one tag category base (or however you call that) and then I wanted to change it back to Woocommerce default (product-tag), but the links wouldn’t automatically redirect.

    Like domain.com/tag-base/tag-name/ wouldn’t redirect to domain.com/product-tag/tag-name/

I have the automatic redirect feature enabled in Rank Math, if that matters.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

This feature works as expected on my end, a change in permalinks is also controlled by WordPress and should take effect once the Settings > Permalinks page is saved.
Please note that for this URL structure to take effect, you will need to have the following post permalink structure:
    Permalink structure

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
