    Rank Math free

Hi! I set up Rank Math on my site and customized the social share settings for the homepage of the following site: bendingthearctojustice.com/. When I try to share on Facebook, however, my image/title/description in Rank Math do not show up in the social post module on Facebook. See screen shots attached. Two show my settings in Rank Math. The additional one shows what it looks like when I start to compose a post on Facebook. What additional do I need to configure to get the settings in Rank Math to show on a social share?

    Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

There are a few reasons for the Facebook (or any other social network like WhatsApp) not picking your images and other social tags. We will list them below so you can check which one applies in your case:

    1. First and foremost, you must check the page source of the URL in question. Search for the og:image tag like in this Video:
    https://i.rankmath.com/aJCccE

If the og:image tag is not found, that means Rank Math is either disabled or not able to print your social tags. Once done checking if Rank Math is enabled, you must check why it isn’t able to print social content by following this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Make sure to follow all the instructions carefully.

    2. Assuming the og:image tag was found in step 1, we can proceed to find the issue.

Scenario 1: You are using minification on your website and your cache plugin is inputting too much inline CSS into your page source that your OpenGraph tags are pushed way too down your page’s source:
    turn off minification

If this is the cache, you must move your inline CSS to a file because Facebook and other social networks will only look for OpenGraph tags in the first 60kbs of your page’s source. If they don’t find it, they will assume you haven’t added them. They don’t want to waste their resources crawling huge pages looking for OpenGraph tags.

Scenario 2: The gain browser cache option in most cache plugins like W3 Total Cache is known to not play well with Facebook’s OpenGraph detection. If you have it enabled, disable it. The option for W3 Total Cache is at WP > Performance > Browser Cache > HTTP (gzip) compression
w3 total turn off gzip compression

Then, clear your website and server cache (including Cloudflare – if enabled)

Once you are done, you might want to test again here:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

    Click the Scrape Again button:
    scarpe again facebook debug tool

You should now see the OpenGraph tags update including the image.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.

I have deleted the plugin and replaced it with Yoast. Why do these items still show up at the bottom of my pages? (See screen grab https://ibb.co/3SXKHmk)

As feedback, the reason I deleted Rank Math is because I discovered it was breaking my site across the board. All the visuals displayed incorrectly, and it was no longer functioning. When I deactivated the plugin, everything went back to normal. I was told Rank Math would not impact a divi site, but I discovered a different experience.

    Hello,

Rank Math is fully compatible with Divi. It is likely that some other plugin/theme on your website was causing the issue.

If you can give Rank Math another try, then we can find the cause of the issue.

You may follow this troubleshooting guide to find the plugin/theme causing the issue: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to work out bugs with a plugin and Yoast works without a hitch.

I have one remaining question for Rank Math, which I asked in my earlier post:

Why do these items still show up at the bottom of my pages? (See screen grab https://ibb.co/3SXKHmk) May I remove them?

    Hello,

The fields are still there because the data that you entered in Rank Math’s meta box is still saved in your database. This is done so if in case you switch back to the plugin, all your settings can be restored.

If you want to remove all the Rank Math data from the database then please follow this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/uninstall/#completely-removing-rank-maths-data

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Ah! I see. Thanks for the explanation. Will it hurt the infrastructure to leave it as is, then? I try to stay away from the functions.php file if I can, since I know that can easily break the site. However if leaving in the remnant code also might cause conflicts, I’m at a crossroads.

    Hello,

If you wish to retain it, it won’t affect your website as our plugin’s database was made for Rank Math features use only. Another plugin should not be accessing/using it.

The filter code my colleague provided is safe as it is intended to remove only the Rank Math data. You may create a major website backup if you wish to proceed with using this method.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
