Hi do i have to manually add the sitemap url into my google search console?

    HI there,

    Thanks for the question.

Yes, you will need to assign the correct URL to the add sitemap page and Google will upload and fetch the contents to be used on the search console.
Please add this as the sitemap URL: your_domain(.)com/siteamap_index.xml

I hope this info helps. Thank you.

    Is this the correct URL?

After adding the url to my google search console, is there anything else that i need to do?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the follow up.

Yes that is the correct URL, after you have submitted it no additional steps are required, you will just have to wait for Google to index your site content.

Let me know if you have additional questions. Thank you.

I am trying to enable the inclusion of attachments in my sitemap. But how do i disable attachment redirection to parent?

Another question is if it is recommended to enable this setting? If so what is its function?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Please know that the images are already included in your sitemap.

You can open your post or pages sitemap and see the images beside each post’s URL: images in sitemap

The option you are referencing to pertains to the attachment pages. We do not recommend enabling attachments, let alone have a separate sitemap for it. The reason being that attachments cause thin content issues and dilute down your website’s authority.

Here’s an article on the topic: https://www.seoblog.com/2018/04/wordpress-attachment-hurt-seo/

If you still want to proceed and enable attachments as well as attachment sitemaps, you can do so from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Links. Disable the redirect attachments option: enable attachments

Then, go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > Media and enable the Attachments sitemap.
