Hello, I was hacked by a Japanese virus.. It was fixed by Wordfence however there are still many Japanese pages, referenced on behalf of my site on Google. When I asked Wordfence how to do it, here is their answer:
« I have had a look at your site in the search console and verified that there are many Japanese links present. If I live test any of these I get a 404 which means the site is free of any infection, but these dead links are not being cleared out of google search. It turns out that your sitemaps are generated by Rank Math SEO. You will need to ensure your sitemaps are up to date. i.e. no stale URLs and that Google is crawling your site correctly. There appears to be some stale sitemap URLs in robots.txt, which search engines use for information on how to find out about your site structure. While this may not effect site crawling it would be good to have the possible problem that it does fixed as well. Something I noticed that is a red flag is that Google Safe Browsing has not checked your site since November last year and this is why I would question if something is inhibiting Googles site crawling.
Unfortunately SEO including sitemaps is beyond our scope of works so you may want to get a developer to organise your sitemaps correctly and submit a manual re-crawl request to Google if you are unable to do this yourself.«Â
