Hello, I was hacked by a Japanese virus.. It was fixed by Wordfence however there are still many Japanese pages, referenced on behalf of my site on Google. When I asked Wordfence how to do it, here is their answer:
« I have had a look at your site in the search console and verified that there are many Japanese links present. If I live test any of these I get a 404 which means the site is free of any infection, but these dead links are not being cleared out of google search.

It turns out that your sitemaps are generated by Rank Math SEO. You will need to ensure your sitemaps are up to date. i.e. no stale URLs and that Google is crawling your site correctly. There appears to be some stale sitemap URLs in robots.txt, which search engines use for information on how to find out about your site structure. While this may not effect site crawling it would be good to have the possible problem that it does fixed as well. Something I noticed that is a red flag is that Google Safe Browsing has not checked your site since November last year and this is why I would question if something is inhibiting Googles site crawling.

Unfortunately SEO including sitemaps is beyond our scope of works so you may want to get a developer to organise your sitemaps correctly and submit a manual re-crawl request to Google if you are unable to do this yourself.«

Pouvez vous faire quelque chose à ce sujet ?

  • Hello, we apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced due to the Japanese virus affecting your site. It’s great to hear that Wordfence was able to resolve the issue.

Regarding the stale sitemap URLs and the need to ensure that your sitemaps are up to date, we recommend checking your sitemap settings in Rank Math SEO. You can access and update your sitemap settings by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings.

Ensure that all the URLs in your sitemap are accurate and up to date. Additionally, you can submit a manual re-crawl request to Google through Google Search Console to prompt Google to crawl and index your updated sitemap.

If you encounter any difficulties or have further questions, please feel free to reach out to our dedicated support team here. We are available 24/7, 365 days a year and will be happy to assist you further.

Ok its possible to do this for me ?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and bringing your concern to our attention.

You can share your sitemap URL with us so that we can check this further for you.

However, please note that Rank Math only includes the URL to your sitemap when it is set to index and has a self-referencing canonical. It doesn’t include the 404 URLs to your sitemap.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Your sitemap is already working fine.

However, as you have shared above, your robots.txt still mentions different sitemap URLs.

Please copy and paste these rules on your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Edit Robots.txt

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
    Sitemap: https://www.zenglutenfree.fr/sitemap_index.xml

ok, I tried but it tells me that it is locked because The content is locked because a robots.txt file is present in the root folder.

    so I can’t change it

    Hello,

This message states that you have a physical robots.txt file present in the root folder of your website and that’s why you’re not able to edit the file dynamically from Rank Math. In order to resolve the issue, please try to remove this file via FTP or cPanel File Manager.

For more details, you can check this URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/cant-edit-robots-txt/#num-1-presence-of-a-physical-file

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
