Sitemap white page

    My sitemap has become a white page. I have updated it to the latest version. Before I had no issues at all.

    I have an NGINX server, but again before the update I could just humanly read the sitemap.

    Now I have to press control+u and I can see that there is code in the sitemap, and for the last 3 days Google Search Console it updated reading my sitemap. But it’s still the old one.

    Question: How can I get the sitemap human-readable again?

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    This can be caused by the presence of a static file with the same name as you sitemap file (sitemap_index.xml). Please FTP into your server and remove the file Let us know how it goes.

    No it was not there,

    as said before “Before I had no issues at all.”

    This wasn’t because suddenly a static file was there, because it worked before.

    The issue got resolved by updating.
