Sitemap submission issues

#506805
  • Hi,

I am facing issues while submitting Sitemaps. I have already referred the RM Knowledge Base, however, my issue is still unresolved.

The Sitemap for my site is in the following format – .com/index.php/sitemap_index.xml.

Is “index.php” causing a problem ? Additionally, in the Google Search Console’s Indexing section, the following message is visible “No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘X-Robots-Tag’ http header”.

Can you please help me to resolve this issue ?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Please go to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > General, and make sure that the “WordPress Address” and “Site Address” have the same setup. If you have set it up with index.php, then your sitemap will also include it.

However, having the /index.php is not an issue with noindex detected in X-Robots-Tag http header error for your sitemaps. You’ll get the error if you inspect your sitemaps because, by default, sitemaps are set to noindex as they are meant to be crawled and not to be displayed on search results pages.

Please follow the steps in this link instead on how to submit your sitemaps to Google:

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.
