  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your robots.txt, and it seems to be showing empty.

Please update your robots.txt to our recommended format here:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-edit-robots-txt-with-rank-math/

Once done, remove all your sitemaps and resubmit your main sitemap only. Then give Google some time to recrawl your site.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

I have done exactly as you directed mentor.
Can you check to see if thats how you want it to look?
    Thanks

    Hello,

I can confirm that your robots.txt is now showing a correct configuration for search engine bots.

Also, ensure that your sitemap is not being cache, you may follow the steps below to do so:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    3. After that, remove all your sitemaps from your GSC and resubmit only the primary sitemap (sitemap_index.xml).

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

I have not seen where to put this in cloudflare

    sitemap?\.xml?
    [a-z0-9_\-]*sitemap[a-z0-9_\-]*\xml|xsl)?
    ([az0-9_\-]*?)sitemap([a-z0-9_\-]*)?.xml

    Hello,

In your Cloudflare settings, you can find the page rule option here:
    page rules

If you are able to access that option, create a page rule and enter the code provided in the guide.

If you still having issues applying the code, you may check this one with your hosting provider as they can further guide you with it.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

I have seen the page rule but what I saw there is single url but no place for the bunch of codes you gave me.
Or should I enter the whole codes in the url? My host may take me so much time to attend to my case. If Cloudflare is the problem maybe I can remove my sites from cloudflare. Please advise me.
    Thanks

I want to let the support team know that my site now has 3,291 discovered url. I am very happy.
Please is there any other thing I need to do so they can start appearing on google searches?
Thanks very much for this help. Please get back to me.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Since Google has already discovered the URLs and hasn’t yet decided to index them, all you can do now is to wait for the next crawl.

It can take some time for search engines to index the new sites and URLs.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

Before I mark this as solved please do you know why searching for “vevohits” returns vevosongs homepage instead of my site homepage vevohits?
This is really troubling me. Am I doing something wrong in homepage title rankmath?

    Hello,

We are sorry for the delay and appreciate your patience.

    1. First of all, assuming that you have already changed the SEO Meta Title and Meta Description with the help of Rank Math:
Add a Meta Description in Classic Editor:
    meta in classic

Add title and description in Gutenberg:
    meta in gutenberg

    2. Then, ensure that this is the setting in the Schema tab if the Schema Markup module is enabled on your website:
    schema values

To reiterate, the Schema title must show %seo_title% and the description should show %seo_description% – this will ensure your SEO title and SEO Description that you set up via Rank Math can also be used for your Schema details.

    3. The next step is to check if your title/description is properly set up in the page source:
    https://i.rankmath.com/HwXR1o

You can use this tool for the same as well: https://www.heymeta.com/

    4. If it matches your settings, then you must check if Google has seen the changes already or not.

For that, please check when the Google cache was updated for that page:
    a. cache
    b. cached

If the cache date is from before adding the new meta description, then you just have to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index the page with the new info. If the date is after you made the changes, then you just have to wait it out and there is no further input needed from your end.

Do note that if everything’s fine and Google still decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

Here are some of the common reasons Google might not use the meta description you provided:
The meta description is not relevant or useful (ie, just a collection of keywords).
The exact same meta description is provided across a large number of pages.
The meta description doesn’t match what the user is searching for, but other content on the page does.

There is a whole article dedicated to this on SearchEngineJournal:
    https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-offers-suggestions-for-avoiding-meta-description-rewrites/359884/

Here is an example showing Google changes title depending on the keyword used:
    description
    &
    description 2

The best you can do is optimize your meta tags to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

You can read more about it here

    https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624?hl=en

This section sheds light on that:

Why the search result title might differ from the page's <title> tag

Hope that helps. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
