Sitemap only works as administrator

  • Hey,

I am having issues with the XML sitemap showing a blank page when logged out of WordPress. When logged into WordPress, the sitemap works perfectly fine and has also been included within my robots.txt file. This issue is subsequently causing problems for Google Webmasters when trying to fetch the sitemap.

I have been through all of your common fixes and my host will have added the recommend NGINX redirects within the next 24 hours. However, I don’t think that is the issue given that I can access the sitemap when logged into WordPress?

All plugins are up to date and I am running the latest version of WordPress.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We checked your sitemap without login, and is showing as valid, you can validate here:

Are you still getting the issue? Have you tried removing the sitemap and adding it again?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Thank you for your response.

It appears that the NGINX redirect rules were in fact the problem and once that was fixed, the sitemap works as expected. All records in Webmasters can now be fetched which is great. I will monitor over the next few days and reply to this ticket should the issue appear again.

    Kind Regards,
