Sitemap not updating

    Hi there,

    I’m using Rankmath, however it’s stopped updating my sitemap file again. The last update was 2021-07-16 21:25 +10:00. This issue has happened before and previously I had to remove Rankmath and then reinstall it which I don’t want to do so I don’t lose data.

    I’ve also tried/verified…

    1 Not Nginx Server
    2 Clicked SAVE in Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks
    Clicked SAVE in Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings
    3 My site doesn’t use a cache

    What’s weird and it done it last time before I reinstalled Rankmath is that when you click on Sitemap Settings, the options get shortened in a fraction of the second and this is what is available;

    Links Per Sitemap
    Images in Sitemaps
    Include Featured Images
    Exclude Posts
    Exclude Terms
    Ping Search Engines

    whereas a fraction of a second before the above is displayed, I manage to grab a print screen of;

    Links Per Sitemap
    Images in Sitemaps
    Included Featured Images
    Exclude Posts
    Exclude Terms
    Ping Search Engines
    Include in Sitemap
    Image Custom Fields
    Include in Sitemap
    Include Empty Terms
    Include in Sitemap

    HELP!!! 🙂

    So I unticked Ping Search Engines in Dashboard/RankMath/Sitemap Settings and then reticked the checkbox and click save, the sitemap started working again.

    Any idea what is causing this?

    Reinstalling Rank Math would not lose you any data, however, as you’re not seeing all the options, please make sure that the advanced mode is enabled in Rank Math. You can follow this guide to switch to advanced mode: https://rankmath.com/kb/advanced-mode/

    Since sitemap is not updating, assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
