    My website got hacked by Japanese Keyword hack. I successfully removed the malware, reset my whole website, however, I am still unable to access your sitemaps. It just shows a 404 error. However, if I visit theunveiledsagas.com/sitemap.xml , I see all the hacked links on there, which is why, I can’t submit the sitemap to Google. Please get your sitemap feature sorted. I have done everything that your support questions tell, but its been a while. Dropping my cpanel details, and wordpress account details below.

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    I logged in and checked the website settings, you seem to be using some other plugin to generate the sitemaps.

    Please disable the XML Sitemaps plugin, and follow these steps:
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    Once done, check the sitemap at http://theunveiledsagas.com/sitemap_index.xml, if it loads fine, remove the sitemaps from the Search Console and add sitemap_index.xml and wait for Google to crawl the sitemap.

    That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.

    Hi,

    I was trying out different solutions, hence I had temporarily changed the sitemap generator. I have however disabled that plugin, and tried your solutions, but they don’t work. Kindly look into it.

    It looks like something is blocking the direct access of the sitemap file on your host because if you open the ” https://yourdomain.com/?sitemap=1 ” you will see the sitemap is working.

    Even only the Rank math plugin enabled, the error persists. Please kindly get in touch with your hosting provider and do let us know how it goes.
