Hello,
I did submit a ticket for this issue on Friday 22nd December before I left for Christmas however, I can’t find it or a confirmation email. So apologies for submitting this again.
I installed the RankMath plug-in on my WordPress account for the website I manage (www.opalbond.co.uk). An important feature I needed was the sitemap generator as we didn’t have a sitemap or a robots page. Creating this sitemap resolved the issue I had in SEMRush for no sitemap. However, it created 26 new issues on the audit report as it said the pages in the sitemap were incorrect.
Also, when I submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console it came back with an error saying it couldn’t index these URLs due to them being incorrect or redirecting. I think the problem could be the / at the end of the URLs in the sitemap. I found this in GSC:
User-declared canonical: https://opalbond.co.uk/our-work/bespoke-gummies/
Google-selected canonical: https://opalbond.co.uk/our-work/bespoke-gummiesI tried to manually edit the sitemap myself to remove the / at the end of the URLs but I can’t find where to do this. I really would like to resolve this issue as search engine marketing is a really important focus for me.
Many thanks
Sophie
