    Hi,

In the sitemap generated by rank math, the number of images shown is incorrect. I have contacted your support regarding this before 2 days. At that time, it got solved when I rollbacked to I rolled back to version 1.0.91, it has started to show correct number of images of the sitemap.

When I installed the latest version 1.0.92.1, the number of images shown on the sitemap is wrong. I have found the issue and it looks like a bug. Rank Math is calculating number of images in the gallery twice.

For example: If I have 20 images attached in my gallery, it is showing as 40 images.

The first post in my sitemap has 28 images attached (23 in gallery and 5 as media files) but sitemap created by latest version of rankmath is showing as 51 images because it is doubling the number of images in the gallery (28+23 = 51), while the sitemap created by version 1.0.91 is showing right number of images as 28.

I have attached two screenshots in the sensitive data field. The first screenshot is sitemap created by latest version of Rankmath and it is showing wrong number of images.

The second screenshot is sitemap created by version 1.0.91 and it showing correct number of images.

Please check on it and rectify the bug.

    Regards,
    Manojh

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you please share the gallery plugin you are using so we can test it as well?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Thanks and welcome! I am not using any gallery plugin. I am just using the default gallery option in WordPress.

    Hello,

We again apologize for the issue you are experiencing with our plugin. It looks like your sitemap is heavily cached. Can you please check if you have any server-level caching services (like Cloudflare)? If you have any, please clear the caching there.

If that doesn’t work, kindly apply this filter code to your theme’s functions.php file and flush the sitemap by following this video screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/xXXhDt

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

My sitemap is not heavily cached. I have excluded it from being cached on my cache plugin and on CDN as well.

If the issue is being my sitemap heavily cached, then how come it is showing right number of images after I have rollbacked to version 1.0.91 from 1.0.92.1.

If I updated again to version 1.0.92.1 or 1.0.92, the number of images shown on my sitemap is wrong.

    Regards,
    Manojh
