Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
You should only add to the Google Search console the https://yourwesbite.com/sitemap_index.xml URL so you should remove the sitemaps you have added in the Search Console and add that one.
Let us know if that fixes your issue.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello, thank you very much for the comments.
I applied the change but it still gives me the same error. Now I only have: /sitemap_index.xml
Why is it giving error?
Cheers
Hello,
I have just checked your website but it seems you have a redirection done, your sitemap_index.xml now redirects to a 404 page error.
if you are using a cache plugin, you must add all the sitemap file locations to the exclusion list in your Cache plugin so that the sitemaps are never cached. These are the files you must add to the exclusion list:
sitemap_index.xml
post-sitemap.xml
page-sitemap.xml
category-sitemap.xml
product-sitemap.xml
This is required since Sitemaps are already cached internally by Rank Math and we flush them every time you post something new and with our cache.
After that, could you save again the permalinks in your website, so the sitemap is regenerated?
Let us know if that fixes your issue.
Looking forward to help you.
Hello,
It seems to have worked properly again. Thank you.
Regards,
Sergio
