    Dear Team,
Im trying to add my sitemap to my google adsense, but it always gives a http error (Error: “Beim Versuch, auf deine Sitemap zuzugreifen, ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Bitte vergewissere dich, dass deine Sitemap unseren Richtlinien entspricht und unter der angegeben Adresse zu finden ist, und reiche sie dann erneut ein.”). I flushed my permalinks as you described it in the FAQ, but it wont work.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We would recommend that you first go through this checking process to ensure that nothing is wrong with your sitemap:

    1. Check if the sitemap is working fine in your browser? Do that by going to [domain.com/sitemap_index.xml].

In case the sitemap is working fine, try verifying it via this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html

    2. If the above works, check if you have verified the correct version of your website on Google? Please check if you have verified the www (or non-www) and HTTPS (or HTTP) version of your website. You would need to fix this if you find a mismatch.

    3. Next ensure that the cache is cleared and Google bot is excluded from seeing a cached version of your sitemap.

    4. Also, try excluding the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin from your caching plugin. You could check this doc on how to do this on plugins: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    5. Lastly, Head to your WordPress Settings > Permalinks and resave your settings.
Once you have these steps verified you can head back to your search console and remove any submitted sitemap then only resubmit the main sitemap file(sitemap_index.xml).

I hope this information helps and please feel free to let us know if you need further assistance with this.

    Hello,
when Im trying to verify this sitemap https://atlic.de/sitemap_index.xml on https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html it gives a error.

    Hello,

I checked your sitemap and it seems you have disallowed any access to your site by any user agent using your robots.txt, here is a screenshot:
    img

You will need to edit the robots.txt and change this or clear/delete any custom robots.txt fil on your site to allow Rank math to generate tis dynamically for your site.

Once done, you can clear your cache and try submitting your only your main sitemap(sitemap_index.xml) again

    Hope this helps. Thank you

    Hello,

how can I make this? I cant find a way to change it.

    Hello,

The robots.txt can be found in your root folder which can be accessed by using your FTP folder. Just delete it or rename it. Rank math will auto-generate a virtual robots.txt for your site.

If you aren’t sure, we can assist you in this. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,
it would be great if you can assist me with that. Ive got the plugin, so I just need a email to invite.

    Best regards,
    Alper

    Hello Michael,

ive sent you a invitelink with the plugin. Let me know if you need further help!

    Best regards,
    Alper

    Hello,

    Thank you for following up.

I’ve checked your site, and it seems that you have enabled the “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” that’s why your robots.txt is showing the Disallow:/ code.

Please disable Search engine visibility in your WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Reading and verify again your main sitemap only: https://atlic.de/sitemap_index.xml

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

So I will check the box and then verify it or what exactly ? Because right now the checkbox is not checked at “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”

    Hello,

The disallow line for the entire website is gone from your robots.txt file:
    https://atlic.de/robots.txt

However, we notice your site visibility settings are managed from here: https://wordpress.com/log-in?site=atlic.de&redirect_to=%2Fsettings%2Fgeneral%2Fatlic.de

So, you will need to check settings and ensure your website is not set to be noindex – because right now it is – not once, but twice:

If you would like us to sort this for you, please share your WordPress.com logins as well.

We look forward to helping you.

Right now the Website is not published, because it is still in work. Is that the issue ? So i cant fix that before i publish the site ?

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow up.

The purpose of generating and submitting your sitemap on Google is basically to have it indexed and appearing on SERPs. When your site is set to noindex then it means you don’t want your site getting indexed which just beats the need for sitemap submission at the moment. Feel free to let us know if the issue still persists when your site is ready to be published and set to index.

    Hope this helps. Thank you

    Hello,

so ive integraded now a “In-Work” Page so I can publish my site without problems. Ive set everything to Index, still i cant upload my sitemap. Could you now watch if it is still on no index? I could give you again a log-in, then you would have full access to my site

    Hello,

I can see that your source is showing index https://i.rankmath.com/LKBEf5

I tried validating your Sitemap from https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html, and it appears to be working.https://i.rankmath.com/6gCqBk

You should be able to submit it to Google and wait for a few days for it to re-crawl and re-index your site.

    Looking forward to helping you.
