Sitemap – Fullscreen pages set to off seems not working correctly

  • Resolved Max.R

    Hi,

In “Sitemap Settings” –> “Fullscreen Pages” I set the switch to “Off” but in “https://www.massimoroccia.com/sitemap_index.xml” there still is “https://www.massimoroccia.com/mtheme_featured-sitemap.xml”.

This generates a 404 error while the sitemap is read by Googlebot and other search engine crawlers.

Is there a way to not have “https://www.massimoroccia.com/mtheme_featured-sitemap.xml” in the sitemap index and avoid the 404 error?

    Regards

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you please do the following:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

    That should fix the issue.

If it doesn’t, please do let us know so we can look at this further.

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately, after having followed your instructions the problem is still there.

When I go to “https://www.massimoroccia.com/sitemap_index.xml” I found the following:
    https://www.massimoroccia.com/page-sitemap.xml
    2019-07-12 09:44 +00:00
    https://www.massimoroccia.com/mtheme_featured-sitemap.xml
    2019-05-28 10:46 +00:00

Please have a look to the screenshot by the following link and password “RankMath” (the image will be deleted within 24 hours):

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hi Michael,

I just installed the last update 1.0.29 and it is working correctly now, the “https://www.massimoroccia.com/mtheme_featured-sitemap.xml” is no more there.

I think this can be closed as solved.

Thank you very much for your help.

    Best regards,
    Massimo Roccia
