I was only getting the error on my product category pages. In Settings -> Titles & Meta -> Product categories I had enabled Category Archives Robots Meta and set Noindex there. My intent was to then individually set Index on the product categories I wanted to be in the sitemap.
By doing the reverse and setting the global Product Category archives meta to Index and then setting the individual categories I wanted to avoid as noindex, the product sitemap started working again.
I have no idea if this is a general solution. Some response from RankMath would be nice.
still the same problem, and its been a week, NO RESOLUTION
I thought RankMath is better than all in seo and yoast seo
but this problem is holding me back from using RankMath SEO :((((((

If anyone is still facing this issue, please check the following:
1. Check and make sure you have not set your global/pages/posts/categories robots meta as noindex in Rank math > Titles & Meta
2. Make sure your individual pages/posts/categories are set to index
If all the above is set, can you please follow these steps?
3. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

4. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
