Sitemap empty according to Google

    Good day,

I am having trouble uploading sitemaps to Google. My site has 5 sitemaps. Whatever I try, Google approves 3 of them and rejects 2 of them for apparently being empty. I can open the sitemaps directly from the Search Console and they do in fact contain URL’s.

I have tried disabling Varnish cache, my page cache plugin, my security plugin and have followed the instruction from this video: https://i.rankmath.com/xXXhDt

Bing does accept all of the sitemaps and can read the URL’s they contain.

I’m kind of at a loss here. I run other websites with the exact same caching and security methodes and Google hasn’t had problem with these sitemaps once.

Any ideas what might cause this?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It appears your sitemap is still being cached.:

Please exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

That should fix the issue. Please try resubmitting your sitemap and let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.

    Hi Michael,

    Sitemap cache

The pages are not cached now, but I am still experiencing the same issue where 2 out of 5 caches always return “empty”.

    Hello,

I’m sorry for the delay and any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Is the issue already fixed? I’ve tried validating the sitemaps you mentioned and got no error. Please see the screenshot in the Sensitive Data section.

If the issue persists, please record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the troubleshooting and edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
