It is possible that Google is seeing a cached version of your sitemap.
Can you please follow these steps?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
Once done, remove the sitemaps from the search console and submit only sitemap_index.xml and wait for Google to crawl the sitemap.
That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.
I have followed your steps but the problem still exist can you have a closer look of it. I attached sensitive information on the first post
I shifted from yoast plugin to rankmath and the same number of URL showed by yoast sitemap in google search console have never changed with your plugin sitemap even after adding more articles

Please remove your sitemaps from your Google Search Console and resubmit your primary sitemap (https://yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml). That should fix the issue.

I removed the sitemap and resubmitted again but the number of URL still remains the same.

Could you please take a screenshot of your Google Search Console showing the number of sitemaps? You can use this tool and share the link in the sensitive data section.
Alternatively, you can also record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the links and the missing link/s (if there’s such) so we can further investigate.

Are there any additional sitemaps? Please click the sitemap in your Google Search Console. It should only show:
/post-sitemap.xml – 86
/page-sitemap.xml – 7
Also, please try resubmitting them individually and see if that makes a difference.
If the issue still persists, the error must be coming from Google. You can try and use a 3rd party sitemap plugin to confirm. Just make sure you have disabled the Sitemap module of Rank Math in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard when using a 3rd party sitemap plugin.
If the other plugin works, please do let us know.

I have resubmitted individual sitemap and they are okay. Is it okay to leave them like that?
Also I have tried a third party and it worked well.

If it works with the other sitemap, it should work with Rank Math as well.
Although it is okay if you use a 3rd party plugin for Sitemaps and disable the Sitemap feature in Rank Math.

Hello, still having blank sitemap on google search console i.e. it doesn’t show sub-sitemaps when I click on the sitemap_index.xml it just show “Sitemap index processed successfully” and nothing else. How can I resolve this?
