  • Hello,

    Hello,

I’ve checked your site using https://httpstatus.io, and it is returning a 503 status.

    503

The 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable are server errors, so I would recommend getting in touch with your web host for this issue.

Once done, clear your website’s cache and validate the issue in your Google Search Console account.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Once done, clear your website cache and resubmit thesitemap_index.xml in the Search Console.

    That should fix the issue.

I hope this information is helpful, and please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional support.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I tested the sitemap variations with a few other tools and indeed it seems like a false positive with httpstatus.io. While testing with other tools (like https://www.webfx.com/tools/http-status-tool/), I found that two variations are returning the 200 status. You can check the screenshot in the sensitive data section.

Except for the preferred variation (which should return only a 200 status), all the non-preferred variations of the website should redirect to the preferred variation and return a 301 + 200 status.

Please follow the steps in this link:
https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/#5-check-for-the-correct-version-of-the-sitemap and redirect to the correct variation.

You can also get in touch with your web host regarding this.

Once this is fixed, please clear your website’s cache and remove all the sitemaps from your Google Search Console account, and submit only the main sitemap: /sitemap_index.xml.

Further, give Google some time to crawl your website again and see if the issue gets fixed.

With that being said, I checked and was unable to find any URLs in the page-sitemap. Could you confirm if have pages that are indexable? If yes, please confirm if you’ve already followed the steps mentioned by my colleague: https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/sitemap-could-not-be-readgeneral-http-error/?view=all#post-325138

If not, please follow them and after clearing the website’s cache, check the page sitemap again and see if the URLs are added.

Let us know how that goes.

    Thank you.
