I’m sorry to hear that you’re facing an issue with your sitemap not being read after submitting it to the search console. This problem can occur due to various reasons, such as incorrect submission or accessibility issues.
To address this problem, please follow these steps:
-
Check Sitemap Accessibility:
- Use the HTTPStatus tool to check if your sitemap is accessible. Enter your sitemap URL and verify the status to identify any accessibility issues.
-
Ensure Correct Submission:
- Make sure you have submitted the correct sitemap URL to Google. The correct URL format should be: `https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/

Hello,
We checked your sitemap and they are validating correctly.
Please confirm if you have already verified the correct variation of the website in your Google Search Console account. (HTTPS non-WWW)
Meanwhile, you can follow the steps in this link to flush the sitemap cache:
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
Once done, remove all your submitted sitemaps and resubmit your main sitemap only to your Google Search Console account:

Hello,
Please try to submit this sitemap instead:

Let us know how it goes.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
Hello,
You should submit one sitemap index only and remove the other.
If you’re submitting /?sitemap=1, then you should delete the /sitemap_index.xml URL.
Also, please give Google some time to crawl and read your sitemap. You should wait for the “Last read” column to be populated to know if Google has already reached your sitemaps.
Looking forward to helping you.
