This is usually an issue with caching. Please exclude your sitemap URLs from being cached then re-save your permalink and sitemap settings, then re-submit your main sitemap on your GSC. Let us now how this goes.

It is depends on what caching plugin you are using. If you have W3Total cache, please check Performance > Page cache and check for never exclude page field. For WP Fastest cache head over to the plugin and you should see an exclude tab. If you are unable to, please get in touch with your cache provider to guide you how to exclude pages/URLs from being cached.

I don’t see proper setting that’s why I removed cache plugin(w3 total cache).
But still, I am getting the same error. why..
I made redirection 404 pages to the homepage. now I switched off the redirection then automatically problem solved. my sitemap page working fine. thanks for the response.

Then I think we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

I added your sitemap URLs to be excluded in Litespeed cache > Cache > Excludes and your sitemaps seem to be now accessible without issue, please check. You can now re-submit your main sitemap in your GSC and let us know if you face any othe issue.

I resubmit my sitemap but I still getting the same error. “Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.” … why this is happening. please help me. fix this issue.
ok well, category and post sitemap automatically fixed. I think it takes some time. to fix this issue according to your changes in cache plugin let’s see. I will reply as soon as possible that the problem is fully fixed or not or any other problem appear.
