  • Sitemap error on google search console

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The tdb templates sitemap is not present in the sitemap index, which is why Google is showing an error for that sitemap.

For the other errors, can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Once done, clear your website cache, remove all the sitemaps from the Search Console and add sitemap_index.xml.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

The Tag sitemap is sending a 404 error

I use wp-optimize plugin for caching.

    Hello,

Your tags are set as Noindex and that’s why the sitemap is returning a 404 error. Please navigate to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Tags and enable the Tags Archive Robots Meta and set it as Index.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

The category sitemap is opening in the browser but it’s reflecting a 404 HTTP error in the search console.

    Hello,

I checked and the categories are properly marked index on your website and the category sitemap is also working fine.

However, your sitemaps are still getting cached. Here’s a screenshot for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/vtloMw

Please ensure that the sitemaps are fully excluded from caching. You can also reach out to your web host to ensure that they’re not caching the sitemaps from their end.

Also, you can add this filter to the website to disable the transient caching:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Here’s a guide that you can follow to add the filter to the website: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

Once done, you can clear your website and server’s cache (if any) and wait for Google to crawl the website again and see if that fixes the issue.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

    Thank you.
