Please make sure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (http or https, www or non-www).
Then, please make sure that the Google account you used to connect your Google Search Console profile is the same one you have used to verify your domain on GSC.
If it still doesn’t work, we have found that using a different Google account to verify your domain and connect your website usually works. Or, you can try using the Google Site Kit if it still won’t work and disable the Search Console inside Rank Math by going to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

I am facing the same issue. My domain property is added to GSC and varified but I have tried multiple times at RankMath plugin it never got listed in the startup wizard.

I am confused about the use of another email address. Does this need to be another gmail address? We created the one we are using specifically for the website. I am doing this for Francesca and it’s a constant struggle to keep client properties from being added to my own accounts, and Google is too interested in connecting accounts. Being very specific here would be really helpful here.
I did add the Google plugin and followed your instruction of disabling the search console in RankMath. I would prefer to do without this plugin if it can be made to work.

It could be a fresh Google account.
We have found that using a new account and setting that as an owner sometimes fixes the type of issue you are facing.

Now I have another gmail account I can use but I’m not sure how to insert it into this process. Do I need to de-authorize the first one with the search console and then start over with the second?
With the search console deactivated in RankMath and the plugin activated the main thing I notice is that none of the dropdowns for permalink %-% are populated with what the documentation says should be there——and the site still doesn’t show up in the search console dropdown.

So I followed my own suggestion and deauthorized the first email and reathorized with the second. The good news is that the domain now shows up in the dropdown.
It also turns out that I was correct in my suspicion that the dropdowns for the %_% choices weren’t populating because of the search console issue. Now the dropdowns are getting the full list of options.
The new question is— should remove the Site Kit by Google plugin?
