Site SEO broken, rankings and traffic lost!

I’m running rankmath on two blogs ie https://blog.condala.com/ and https://ictguy.com/. All the sudden these blogs, especially the second one, lost Google rankings without any prior change made to the site. Traffic dropped from 1000 views per day to 50 views per day. All SEO settings are not working as intended. The titles, descriptions, categories etc all don’t work as set in the Rankmath dashboard. Site displays Logo Alt text in Google instead of set title. On the first blog title is set as “Title | Site name” but instead displays “Site name : Title” in search.

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

I tested the page source of the sites’ homepage and I can confirm that Rank Math is outputting the set meta title and description.

However, upon performing a site search using the site search operator on Google, it displays a different title.

It is a pretty common thing with Google these days. It happens with 70% of the results and we even have a KB dedicated to this problem and a few solutions we recommend:

    https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Please check the KB and you will understand the reasons Google does this.

Google has made some changes to their algorithm which automatically changes the titles, discarding the one you have set in your SEO title meta tag. This happens regardless of the SEO plugin you are using. We have covered this Google update here:

    https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Thanks for the response. And why have i suddenly lost traffic and rankings for the second site? Drop from 1000 page views to 50 page views or less. The drop is sudden. No change was made to site. My content now can’t appear anywhere on the first 3 SERPs yet i used to rank #1 for certain local keywords.

    Hello,

A decrease in rankings and traffic can be due to many reasons, and one of the most common reasons is that Google multiple times in a month, releases algorithmic updates, and these updates hit many websites causing a decrease in rankings and traffic.

I hope this helps. Looking forward to helping you.
