    Hi,
    After activating your plug in.
    I saw two SEO warnings.
    One about table of content and one about chaching.
    So I stalled the recommended plugins and ran m.

    No, my site is down and I can’t log in anymore…

    Just before everything crashed I noticed the huge sitemap showing in the top bar.
    Which is totally ugly.
    Can it run only ‘under water’, so it will be indexed but won’t show?
    On my laptop it took up about 30 cm’s on the top and all my menu items where gone.
    When I wanted to go to the dashboard to fix it, I couldn’t.

    Now I’ve contacted the host with the question to help me put back an earlier version.
    But I’m still wondering
    1. what caused the problem.
    2. how to remove the site map altogether or make it invisible.
    I could not find these settings anywhere.

    As per your description, it is likely that the issue was caused due to a potential plugin/theme conflict.

    The sitemap should only appear if you access them using the URL your-domain.com/sitemap_index.xml or by the URLs of the individual sitemap.

    If the sitemaps were shown on all pages, then there would have been a plugin/theme conflicting and causing this issue. You can determine the conflicting plugin/theme by following this tutorial guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    For your second question, you can find all the sitemap-related settings in your WordPress admin area > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings.

    If you wish to disable the sitemaps, then you can disable the Sitemap module from your WordPress admin area > Rank Math > Dashboard. https://i.rankmath.com/mR4GbD
