  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

1). This suggests that you are serving a cached sitemap file to the search engine. Please check whether this is done at the server level and if you have exceptions for the sitemap on your caching plugin.

2). Google will at times show results depending on the search intent of the user and not the same keyword term that you have used on your posts.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hello,

Do you know if any of those plugins have a cache system? If so, you should try to exclude your sitemaps from caching, since it could be causing your issue.

    Looking forward to help you.

I have WP super cache but I cannot see any option to exclude the sitemap.

    Hi Vineet,

    Here’s a tutorial I found:
    http://support.jawtemplates.com/goodstore/web/?p=491

Please check and do the same on your install.

Also, if you continue to face the 404 issue on your sitemap, please get your .htaccess file checked by your server team. I suspect it might not be saving changes correctly and that is why you need to flush the permalinks to make it work.

Do let us know how it goes.

I have done the required changes to my caching plugin 2 days it was fine but today when I got the error again I opened my site map I got an error “the page isn’t redirecting properly” and when I went to sitemap settings and clicked save changes my sitemap appeared again.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

Would you please communicate with your hosting server and inquire if they have a caching mechanism enabled. If they do, you can have them add an exception too to keep your sitemap from being cached at any level.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
