Hi there,
It also appears like my Sitemap is not updating as I have made changes to quite a few posts today.
When I look on my sitemap (despite the fact I’ve cleared all my caches) all the dates are still showing 30th of June.
Surely it should show the 1st July?
Hi there,
Apologies to keep updating the ticket but.. when I went into GSC and I did a Robots.txt tester check… I am getting the following message from GSC
robots.txt Tester
Edit your robots.txt and check for errors. Learn more.
Latest version seen on 23/06/2020, 01:14 OK (200) 124 Bytes
See live robots.txt
So, it does look like Google hasn’t been getting an up to date version of my Robots.txt file?
This is so strange…I’m not sure how to fix this? Thanks Sophie
Hello,
I have checked and I can confirm your website has available three URLs for your robots.txt. I recommend you to contact your hosting support and ask them to redirect the URLs:
http://yourwebsite.com/robots.txt
http://www.yourwebsite.com/robots.txt
https://www.yourwebsite.com/robots.txt
to
https://yourwebsite.com/robots.txt
Since you only want to have one URL for your robots.txt file (to avoid issues like this one).
Looking forward to help you.
Hi There,
I’ve just contacted my host and they have said that they cannot redirect those URLs to the main robots.txt file? When I asked why they said it jsut ‘cannot be done’.
They suggested I need to create a new robots.txt file with the help of a plugin?
Is this possible? I thought that RankMath handled this?
Thanks Sophie
Hello,
I added your robots.txt in Rank Math, could check now if it solved that issue?
Looking forward to help you.
Hi there,
Yesterday evening, I posted a blog post and it’s now on my sitemap.
However, I went on google search console today. I put in the blog post URL in the inspector tool and the URL is not being crawled in the sitemap.
It’s still being picked up under ‘indexed not submitted in sitemap’.
When I clicked on further details it said
Discovery
Sitemaps
N/A
Referring page
None detected
URL might be known from other sources that are currently not reported
It doesn’t appear to have worked…
Hello,
Keep in mind it might take a while to index all the pages, it is all about the crawl budget Google has assigned to your site, so you might need to wait a little more.
You can read about it in detail here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/41615995?hl=en
Looking forward to help you.
