Set up on stating site

    Rank Math free

After looking at SEOpress and Yoast I decide to download and try RankMAth after reading lots of reviews!

So I have installed RankMath onto a site I am developing – this is my staging site. When I have finished this development I will then push it to the live site address.

My question is is there anything specific I should know or do when setting RankMath up on my staging site as the url’s on my development area all start ‘staging.’ but when I push it live the new urls will not have the ‘staging.’ prefix?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

You can easily push the website to a live website and all the settings will work automatically.

The only thing you should double-check is if you have manually changed the canonical URL of a page – you will need to change it again to reflect the change in the domain. Apart from that, everything will work fine.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Hi Todd, thanks for the swift reply.

Can you just let me know exactly what you mean by the canonical URL of a page.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for the reply.

It is possible to modify the canonical URL that the plugin will use to represent the post/page on search engines from the Rank Math SEO options > Advanced tab as shown below:

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
