  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please check if you are using a Firewall, as there are chances that it will prevent saving the data. You can check this link for more information:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thanks for sharing the details.

I am not able to access your dashboard. When trying to access it, it is stuck on a loading screen:

Please check and fix this so we can assist you further.

We really look forward to helping you.

Sorry about that. Please try now.

    Hello,

I tried conducting plugin and theme conflict tests by following these steps: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/ and even with only Rank Math is enabled, the issue persists and it gives me this error in the browser’s developer tools:
"The response is not a valid JSON response."

This indicates that something is blocking our API from your server. Can you please contact your host and see if they can help you with this?

Let us know how it goes. We are looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thanks for getting back.

The IP of our API server is 134.90.148.114 and the user-agent RankMathAPI/2.0.0; https://rankmath.com.

Please whitelist it and check again. Let us know if the issue persists.

We really look forward to helping you.

I whitelisted both the user agent and the IP and there is no change. I have one more error – there is no analytics data. All metrics under Analytics/SEO Performance are 0.

Please also note that editing the SEO content (target keyword, SEO title, SEO meta) works fine under WooCommerce products. It only fails with “Pages”.

Thus we are not blocking anything, no plugins seem to be blocking you. The only conclusion that I can draw is that there is a bug with your plugin.

    Hello,

Thank you for the update, and apologies for the delay.

We wanted to further investigate this issue, but it seems the credentials for your site are not working as it is redirecting to your homepage upon entering (not logged in).

Could you please check and update?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Sorry about that, I have re-enabled your credentials and access.

    Hello,

I can replicate the issue on your website, although when I am creating a new page, it’s working absolutely fine. There must be some cache issue going on. I suggest you create a new page (don’t clone) and manually paste all the content and publish it. That should fix your issue for now while we investigate the issue further, and for Google Analytics, we just needed to fetch the data manually. The issue is fixed now. Could you please confirm it on your end?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I recreated the page and none of the Rank Math inputs were saved: SEO title, SEO snippet, keyword.

    Please fix this.

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The route used to save the metadata on your website is currently being blocked and returning a 403 error.

I added the route in the sensitive data section so you know exactly what route you need to whitelist.

Hope this helps track down the issue.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Well, I can do this:

    curl -X POST https://www.venn-cycling.com/wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta?_locale=user

and get the expected 400 response, but it is not a 403 or a 404, so there is literally nothing on our server or the route that is blocking your API call:

    {"code":"rest_missing_callback_param","message":"Missing parameter(s): objectType, objectID, meta","data":{"status":400,"params":["objectType","objectID","meta"]}}

It still looks like a bug with your plugin that manifests itself just on “Page” post type on our site. What are you doing different on “Page” versus WooCommerce “Product” where your plugin works correctly?

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

We don’t do anything different in pages or posts when using that route to save your metadata. In fact, that metadata for pages/posts/products is all saved in the same table wp_postmeta. Also, the Pages are not any different post type to normal posts in WordPress.

Having said that, I was able to correctly edit the metadata and the route returned a 200 status now.

So, please verify on your end that the route is now returning a successful status and the metadata is being saved correctly.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
