    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

That is issue is more related to the headers you can set on those PDFs than Rank Math, since you can’t set HTML code inside PDFs to set them as no-index.

I would recommended you checking this post: https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2011/09/pdfs-in-google-search-results.html#:~:text=Q%3A%20How%20can%20I%20prevent,used%20to%20serve%20the%20file. and trying to set in that CDN that robots header, to block them for being indexed.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please head over to Rank math > General Settings and enable the option to redirect attachments to parent. You can also edit your robots.txt and add a disallow to prevent bots from crawling any of your files.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Thanks Team, Can you please help me out with X-Robots-Tag: noindex? where to do this changes?

Also please confirm > General Settings and enable the option to redirect attachments to parent. will this remove pdf links from google?

    Hello,

If your PDF files have related html text, you can edit and add <meta name="robots" content="index, follow"/>. Assuming you are uploading the files through your site, another option for this would be using the robots.txt and prevent your /wp-content/uploads/ form being crawled. To do this just add this to Rank math > General Settings > Robots.txt :

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: */wp-content/uploads/

This will keep bots, including Google bot from crawling files on your /wp-content/uploads/ folder and by that eventually remove them from indexing(SERPs).

The option to redirect attachments is used to redirect all files in your site to their related posts and redirect those not attached to any post to a custom UR, usually the homepage.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
