SEO Notice: A previously published term has been moved to the bin ???

    Rank Math free

I’ve taken a site to staging at https://staging2.fsukinternationalcollege.com/ (Siteground) to implement translations using WPML CMS. I’ve got this RankMath alert at the top of admin relating to a binned URL that might need redirecting. See https://prnt.sc/CDDXwHcTfKAr

I have no idea why or how this came about. What I’d like to do is undo this action rather than set up a redirect (details at https://prnt.sc/alrXYnxL_Gnd), as I’m having enough trouble snagging issues between WPML/Avada and WordPress.

Can you assist? I can’t find the’bin/trash’ that it’s in, to remove it from.

Have set you up as Amin for a look.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the SEO notice regarding a previously published term that has been moved to the bin. It seems like this might be related to how WPML handles translations and the content management system’s interaction with Rank Math.

To address this issue, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check the Trash: In your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to the relevant post type (like Posts or Pages) and look for a "Trash" or "Bin" section. You can usually find this option in the list of posts/pages where you can view all items, including those that have been trashed.

    2. Restore the Item: If you find the item in the Trash, you can restore it by hovering over the title and clicking on "Restore". This should bring it back to its original state.

    3. Check WPML Settings: Since you are using WPML, ensure that your settings are correctly configured for translations. Sometimes, items may appear in the trash due to translation settings or conflicts between plugins.

    4. Clear Cache: If you have caching enabled on your site, clear your cache after making changes to ensure that the updates reflect correctly.

If you still cannot find the item or if the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or screenshots, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it quickly for you!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

The SEO notice refers to a French navigation menu (university-main-menu-fr) that was deleted. WPML stores translated menus as taxonomy terms, which is why this appears as a taxonomy=nav_menu URL. Since there’s no trash/bin page for menus, when attempting to delete them, they are deleted straightaway.
(See image in the sensitive data section)

If the menu is no longer needed, you can ignore the notice or dismiss it — no redirect is required unless that URL was publicly linked somewhere.

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

    Thank you.
