SEO Meta Title Incorrect & Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’

#327369
  • Hi There,

Love the plugin but have two issues:

    1. Homepage SEO Meta Title is incorrect. Rankmath Title in the snippet editor: “Multifunctional Gym Towels & Swimming Towels %sep% Soulo” SEO Title on Google: “Soulo: Multifunctional Gym Towels & Swimming Towels” – Meta description is correct. Rest of the site uses “|” as separators, only the home page displays “:”. How can I fix this?

    2. Search console throws out an error, “Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’”, the sitemap does not update after changing these pages (cart, account, checkout) to index. how can this be resolved?

    Site:soulo.co.za

    Thank yoU!

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    1. I checked the source of the homepage and Rank Math is outputting the correct separator in the title tag.

In this case, you can further optimize the titles and give Google some time and hopefully, the separator in the homepage would also get updated.

With that being said, please note that it is completely normal for Google to choose a different title/description (or the version of the title/description) to better match the user’s search intent.

You can have a look at this guide for a quick reference:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

    2. I checked your sitemaps and the pages are already included:

Please exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Just to mention, cart/account/checkout pages are by default set to Noindex. These pages should not be indexed as the content from them are very specific for each user and as such, there’s no real SEO benefit in having it being indexed.

In these cases, you can safely ignore the error shown in Google Search Console.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi Prabhat,

Thanks for the quick response. Q1 is fine, will give Google some time and see if it corrects the title.

As for Q2, The cart, account and checkout pages are set to no index via rank math. The sitemap is also excluded from WP Supercache plugin via the Rejected URL strings section as per the guide on one of the RM articles
    “wp-.*\.php
    index\.php
    /cart/
    /checkout/
    /my-account/
    /branded-clothing/
    sitemap?\.xml?
    [a-z0-9_\-]*sitemap[a-z0-9_\-]*\xml|xsl)?
    ([az0-9_\-]*?)sitemap([a-z0-9_\-]*)?.xml

The problem is that these pages are still being included in the sitemap and I cannot remove them. I’ve done sitemap flushes described in other support articles, nothing has helped. They are still being submitted to Search Console, hence produce the error. Do you have any advice?

    Hello,

I checked and the pages are marked as noindex.

Please also ensure to exclude the sitemaps from server-side caching (if any):
