  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked the URL you have provided, and it seems that the title and description are already set as well in the page source. You can use this tool for the same as well: https://www.heymeta.com/

Can you please check when the Google cache was updated for that page?
    a. cache
    b. cached

If the cache date is from before adding the new meta description, you have to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index the page with the new info. If the date is after you made the changes, you have to wait it out, and there is no further input needed from your end.

Do note that if everything’s fine and Google still decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

Here are some of the common reasons Google might not use the meta description you provided:
The meta description is not relevant or useful (ie, just a collection of keywords).
The exact same meta description is provided across a large number of pages.
The meta description doesn’t match what the user is searching for, but other content on the page does.

There is a whole article dedicated to this on SearchEngineJournal:
    https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-offers-suggestions-for-avoiding-meta-description-rewrites/359884/

Here is an example showing Google changes title depending on the keyword used:
    description
    &
    description 2

The best you can do is optimize your meta tags to match the search/keyword’s intent.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

Thanks, @Reinelle for the quick turn around.

However, I see google cached my homepage yesterday. But the same is not updated for category pages. Below is the reference. Please suggest me the next step of action.

This is Google’s cache of https://www.teckieweb.com/. It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on 30 Dec 2020 03:05:47 GMT. The current page could have changed in the meantime. Learn more.

    Team,

Also, I am noticing the rank math scheme.org for all my category pages is missing the description of key values.

How can I add the missing schema description for category pages using rank math?

    Hello,

Thank you for the additional information.

In this case, you have to wait it out, and there is no further input needed from your end. You’ll need to wait for Google to re-crawl your website and find your page’s description.

For your second question, I’ve checked the link, and it seems that the schema is already showing fine. You can check the link in the designated Sensitive Data section for reference.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks for the wonderful information.

I am marking this request as resolved.
