    1. We consider all post types in this test, regardless of what content it carries.

    If you do not wish to optimize that post type, then you can safely ignore that error.

    2. I checked on the homepage and indeed the ALT text is missing.

    If you’ve already added that, then it is not getting rendered on the front end. You can try clearing the website’s cache and see if that helps.
