    Hi, I recently ran a Semrush site audit for my site. In the results were 39 warnings of

    “The content of H1 tag on this page duplicates the content of page title”

    It is a bad idea to duplicate your title tag content in your first-level header. If your page’s <title> and <h1> tags match, the latter may appear over-optimized to search engines.

    Seeing as the page title is the H1 tag, how am I supposed to fix this issue?

    It depends on what kind of website are you operating and what you want to achieve from the website.

    For Google News, you probably want to keep the title and h1 tags almost exactly the same. But with normal Google web search, having them close is fine.

    Ok thank you, I will have a read of those articles.

    Just as a query, how would I set the H1 tag to be different than the post title?. I was under the impression that the post title denotes the H1 tag.

    Hello,

    WordPress automatically sets the title of your page as H1.

    To modify the default settings, you would have to get in touch with your theme provider.
