Search Engine Preview Snippet Error

    Rank Math free

Since installing rank math, my search engine preview snippet only shows the words available in the header and footer of my site instead of the websites body content.

The search engine snippet preview provided by rank math when editing my home looks right, but what is indexed on google is only the words in the header menu and the words in the footer menu.

I submitted for re-indexing recently and was re-indexed on december 8th. This did not solve the issue.

Let me know if you can help.

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

We’re sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with your search engine snippet preview. It seems that the content indexed on Google is not reflecting the body content of your website, but only the words in the header and footer menus.

To address this issue, we recommend checking the Schema Markup configuration using Rank Math. You can configure the Schema Markup to ensure that the correct content is being indexed by Google. Once you have followed the configuration steps carefully and made the necessary adjustments, you need to wait for Google to re-index your pages and update its database. This process might take some time, even up to several weeks.

Additionally, you can use Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool to test the presence of your theme’s rich snippets and rectify any issues with the code used to implement rich snippets.

If you have already submitted for re-indexing and the issue persists, it’s possible that there may be quality-related issues affecting the indexing of your website’s content. Some factors that could affect the quality of your website include poorly written or thin content, keyword-stuffed content, low-quality inbound links, slow loading of the site, non-mobile-friendly design, and several prominent ads.

Please note that even if your rich snippets are configured correctly and do not generate any errors in the structured data test tool, only Google has the authority to decide whether to display them in the search results or not.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with using Schema Markup with Rank Math, please feel free to reach out to our support team directly from here, and we’re always here to help.

    We hope this information helps!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We checked your website and it seems Rank Math is no longer active on your site. Please activate Rank Math so we can check this for you.

Furthermore, we have checked your website on Google using the site: operator and we can see that some titles and meta descriptions are being generated already which are different from what you shared in the image. You can check the image below:

Please note that search engines decide what to show in search result pages. Search engines like Google sometimes try to adjust the title and description according to the search intent.

Google may choose to display a different meta title and description for search query results. Google may sometimes ignore the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.

You can check this article for details on this issue: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Thank you for choosing Rank Math.

    Hey Adetayo,

    Thanks for your quick response.

I’ve re-enabled the plugin to help us resolve the issue.

I also see what you’re seeing with the SITE: search.

I’m thoroughly confused why google would decide to index the header and footer content of my site instead of the H1 & paragraph tags which appear first.

And perhaps it has something to do with a plugin conflict or the fact that I originally installed SEOpress to test on my site before uninstalling it and switching to RankMath.

Any help for next steps would be appreciated.

    Kevin

    Hello,

We’ve checked your homepage, and the title and description you have set have already been added to the source code.

To ensure that the meta title and description you have set are already applied, you can verify that using these tools:
    https://heymeta.com
    https://rankmath.com/tools/meta-tag-analyzer/

Please note that Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and shows something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

In this case, the best you can do is optimize your meta title and description to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

    Looking forward to helping you.
