Search Console Profile Not Showing Domain

    Hello,
    I”ve just installed your plugin and am working through the set up wizard and am stuck on step 2, search console. I’ve authorized (and deauthorized) Rank Math many times, but the domain I’m setting this up on won’t show in the list of domains. Other domains that are authenticated with google search show, but not this one.

    However, this domain is authenticated with google search through four methods. Meta Tag, google analytics, DNS TXT record and verification of ownership. I added each method each time the plugin couldn’t see that this domain was authenticated with google.

    I’ve searched your forum and see that many other people have problems on this step and you typically tell them to use the DNS method. Quite frankly any method should really work. I mean if the domain shows as verified in google webmaster central, shouldn’t you see it since your app is authorized by the search console? And yes, I have de-authorized and re-authorized RankMath many times.

    Any other suggestions? I’d really like to see if this is the plugin for me.

    The DNS method does the trick for most websites, could you please remove the meta tag and only use the TXT record to verify and check if the results will be different?

    I’ve removed the meta tag from the wordpress side of things. I don’t see a way of removing that as a method of validation on the google webmaster central side of things (they still list all 4 methods). Maybe it will auto update at some point. I then de-authorized and re-authorized RankMath, but nothing has changed. This domain won’t show up on the list.

    OK, it’s been a couple days. I de-authorized and re-authorized rank math and still don’t see my domain.

    Hey Todd,

    I learned something here. I had followed all the links within your plugin that guided me to validate the plugin and yet it never showed up. Above, you specifically asked for access to the google search console and when I logged into that, this domain was not listed. I easily added it because it was authenticated as belonging to me and NOW it shows in your start up wizard. It would appear your start up wizard looks to google analytics search console, NOT to the google Webmaster Central verification page. One difference I’m noticing, is that the other domains that were already validated are presented twice: https://wwww.mydomaincom AND https://mydomain.com. Google’s Webmaster central shows this domain as being: thisdomain.com AND https://thisdomain.com. And your setup wizard shows it as: Domain Property:thisdomain.com I don’t know if those nuances of how it shows / refers to the domain matter or not. Please advice.

    Back the problem, the different ways in which the domain is listed could be as a result of the different verification methods on your site. You should also get in touch with your host and check whether your site exists in both the www and non version.
