  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

When your sitemap shows 0 discovered URLs but the pages are indexed it means that none of them were discovered by the current sitemap that you have added on Google Search Console.

If your site is getting indexed this is not an issue since the sitemap is only one of the methods used for indexing alongside others such as internal linking.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

So what i have to do to index urls with current sitemap. Can you guide me. And what about the other links indexed due to malware. Its about 44k

    Hello,

So what i have to do to index urls with current sitemap.

You do not need to do anything as it is not an issue.

It is possible that Google is crawling and indexing the post through other means like the internal links on your website and not through the sitemaps. As a result, the crawl budget for your website is exhausted, and Google is not able to discover the URLs through your sitemap.

As long as the URLs are getting crawled and indexed, there’s nothing to be worried about.

And what about the other links indexed due to malware. Its about 44k

As you mentioned that you’ve already removed the malware from your website, assuming those URLs are now returning 404 status, you can clear your website and server’s cache (if any). Further, you just need to wait for Google to crawl those URLs again and start removing them from the SERPs.

Please note that as those URLs were already indexed, the deindexing process can take time.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks a lot. one more question. Before malware my post are indexed in google with previous sitemap. And after malware cleanup i submitted sitemap again but in that it shows 0 discovered urls.

    Hello,

This should not be related to the malware unless your sitemaps were also affected. Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do to force Google to perform the crawling in a different way. It completely depends on Google.

However, as mentioned previously, URLs not discovered from sitemaps is not an issue till the URLs are getting indexed.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

    Thank you
