Search Console and Analytics

    Rank Math free

    Hello,

I have the free version of Rank Math installed and activated on my website. I am trying to get my sitemap uploaded to Google search console. I would like to set it up for Rank Math to do it automatically, so have therefore connected my Google account with Rank Math and given the relevant permissions. Also, I have verified ownership of my website.

However, I have left it several days and there is still no sign of the sitemap being loaded to my Google search console. I activated and configured the plugin on 25th October and the last data fetch was 27th October.

I have tried disconnecting Rank Math from Google search console and reconnecting again, although this does not seem to have worked. I have 3 issues:

    1) Next to ‘Search Console’ the dot is now Red instead of Green (which it was before reconnecting)
    2) I cannot ‘Enable the Index Status tab’ toggle (which I had enabled before reconnecting)
    3) Under the ‘Analytics’ heading and under the ‘Account’ dropdown it says ‘No results found’ (this has been the case since installing the Plugin.

I have linked to a screenshot for your reference here: https://imgur.com/a/NQRuvKC

Could you please advise how I resolve these matters please? Your help would be very much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Gayle

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing with Rank Math and the connection to Google Search Console and Analytics. Thank you for providing detailed information about your situation.

    To address your concerns:

    1. Red Dot Next to ‘Search Console’: This indicates that there is a problem with the connection. To troubleshoot this, please go to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Analytics and click on the Test Connections option. This will help validate the connection with your Google account. If it shows a red signal again, you may need to reconnect your Google account as shown below:
      Reconnect Search Console connection

    2. Unable to Enable the Index Status Tab: If the toggle is grayed out, please try switching to a Chromium-based browser like Google Chrome and navigate to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Analytics to toggle it on.
      Enable the Index Status tab

    3. ‘No Results Found’ Under Analytics: This could be due to an issue with the authorization tokens. You may need to refresh these tokens by deleting the Rank Math app from your Google Account permissions. You can do this by visiting Google Account permissions and removing access for Rank Math SEO. After that, reconnect your Google account through Rank Math.
Remove Access to Rank Math SEO

If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these matters for you!

I have tried the suggestions from RankBot and still the issues occur.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

We can see that you have connected to the search console via the domain property and the analytics module is not fully connected with the Google services as shown in the image below.

Please make sure that you are not connecting to Google Search Console via a domain property (sc-domain:yourdomain.com) but rather a URL prefix. Because our plugin is only compatible with the URL prefix properties and doesn’t fully support fetching data from domain properties. Also, the IndexStatus feature doesn’t work with it.

To fix this issue, you need to make sure that you have connected a URL-prefix property to Rank Math. You can do this by following these steps:

    • Go to your Google Search Console dashboard and click on Add Property.
    • Choose URL-prefix and enter the full URL of your website. Make sure it matches the one in your WordPress settings.
    • Verify your ownership of the property using any of the methods provided by Google. Rank Math can help you verify the property, follow this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/
    • Navigate to Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and Click on Disconnect and then Connect again to reconnect your Google account
    • Select the URL-prefix property that you just added and click on Save Changes.
    • More instructions are here: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/

We hope this helps you fix the issue.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please let us know. We’re always happy to help.

    Hello Adetayo,

Thank you for your reply. It was really useful.

I have connected to Google Search Console via a URL prefix as per your instructions. This solves issue 1 and 2 in my original message.

However, issue 3 below has not resolved itself:

    3) Under the ‘Analytics’ heading and under the ‘Account’ dropdown it says ‘No results found’ (this has been the case since installing the Plugin.)

As per Rank Math tutorial here: https://rankmath.com/kb/using-ga4/ there should be options available in these drop down menus.

Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this please?

Also, with my Google Search Console now connected with Rank Math, will my sitemap:
    1) Be added automatically to Google Search Console? If so how long will this take to feed in?
    2) Or is it best to just add it manually myself?

    Kind regards,

    Gayle

    Hello,

The GA4 property should be created using the email address used in your Google Search Console.

Could you please confirm if you have already created a GA4 property for your website?

If not yet, please visit this page (https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/) and sign up for a Google Analytics account and property, then reconnect your Google Account so the new Analytics account will reflect in that section.

Regarding your sitemap, you can add them manually by following our guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/

    Looking forward to helping you.
