  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and we apologize for the inconvenience.

    1. Yes, Google does not allow “Person” as the publisher in an Article schema type. They consider “author” as a type “Person”, and “publisher” as a type “Organization”. That is actually true in the real world. e.g. A novel is written by an author and published by an organization. For this reason, the Rank Math Schema Generator uses only “Organization” as your publisher. If you still want to use “Person” as the publisher, you can do that by manually importing custom JSON/LD code, although we do not recommend using “Person” as the publisher.

    2. You shouldn’t use the Product Markup unless you have real individual product pages, not articles that review products like listicles.

We hope this helps clarify the issue. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us again. We are always happy to assist you.

Would it be possible to provide a bit more insight into why this particular approach isn’t recommended? I’m curious to understand the reasoning behind it

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

The approach of manually importing JSON/LD code to Rank Math schema is actually harmless and even recommended for advanced users who want more customization and flexibility.

What we do not recommend is the use of “Person” as the publisher as Google would flag it as an error, although other search engines and even Schema.org seem to be fine with it. You can see Google’s guideline for the Article schama here.

We hope this further clarifies the issue. Thank you for choosing Rank Math
