Schema for pages and avoiding duplicate content

    Hi hope all is well

    I have two separate questions:

    1. I have read the guide on schemas but I am still unsure of what the suggested schema is for pages such as Home, About, Contact etc? Currently all my pages are set to the “article” schema type but I am assuming this is wrong and it should be reserved for actual posts?

    2. On my website I have a page for all posts “recent posts” then I have pages for each category. This means that the post excerpt etc shows on more than one page. I do use a post widget but could it still lead to duplicate content issues, and if so how would I fix this?

    Hope you can assist

    Thanks
    Guy

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    1. Article is the most general type of schema. You can also leave to none, if your homepage doesn’t feed article type and the homepage will take only the schema set in your local SEO.
    2. This will depend on how you are adding your page content. It is recommended to use the option under Settings > Reading as shown here: https://i.rankmath.com/vDJ5Na

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
