Schema for custom Woocommerce product type “Registrations” variations

    Rank Math free

Before I purchase the Pro version I want to check that this will be able to handle my use case. I cannot seem to test it out at the moment.

I have several products in my woocommerce shop. Each product represents a course type. E.g. Ski Mountaineering, which is a 2-day course.
Each course type has variations representing the dates that the course runs. E.g. 27+28 July, 10+11 Aug, 31 Aug+1 Sept. A visitor can choose which course date they want to purchase and buy the ticket.

I use “registrations for woocommerce” plugin to help with the course dates. I want the product page to generate the schema for each of the variations. Most of the values will be the same, only changing based on the dates, the locations. But all the pictures, descriptions, titles etcetera for this course type will stay the same.

Unsure if your plugin can handle this. Please investigate before I purchase the full plugin.

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your query about using Rank Math for custom WooCommerce product types like “Registrations” with variations for course dates.

Based on your description, Rank Math can handle adding Schema markup to your WooCommerce products, including custom product types like “Registrations” with variations for course dates. You can easily set up the Schema for each product variation to include specific details such as dates and locations while keeping other information like pictures, descriptions, and titles consistent.

To achieve this, you can follow these steps:

    1. Enable the Schema Module in Rank Math SEO.
    2. Edit the product page for each course variation.
    3. Navigate to the Schema settings using Rank Math’s Schema Generator.
    4. Choose the appropriate Schema type (e.g., Product Schema) and customize the details for each variation, such as dates and locations.
    5. Save the Schema settings for each product variation.

If you encounter any specific issues or need further assistance with setting up Schema for your custom WooCommerce product types, please provide more details or screenshots, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.

Feel free to assign this ticket to a human agent if you need more personalized assistance or have additional questions.

Thank you for considering Rank Math for your SEO needs!

    Warm regards.

Can’t quite get it all the way there. Your Generator asks for a start and end date if I choose the “Course” type. But because each variation has a different start and end date, putting a start+end date in the generator would mean that as soon as that course is in the past, the schema is not valid anymore.
If I change the schema type to “Woocommerce Product” it doesn’t have any options.
If I change the schema type to “product” it doesn’t have any relevant options.

Seeking guidance. I want this to be a set-and-forget solution for all of my products.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and bringing your concern to our attention.

In the latest version of the Rank Math PRO plugin, we added the Product Variant Schema which was recently introduced by Google. You can follow this URL for more details on the Product Variant Schema: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/product-variants

So, if you use the Rank Math PRO version of the plugin, it should be able to generate the schema for your course variants. In such a case, you’ll have to use the WooCommerce Product Schema.

Even if it doesn’t work, in the PRO version of the plugin, you have the option to edit your schema by using the Advanced Schema editor: https://rankmath.com/kb/rich-snippets/#advanced-schema-editor

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
