    Hi,

Hope you can help, I am new to RankMath, I switched from Yoast as trying to keep costs down.

For some reason although I have done the wizard a number of times and checked settings (I hope I have correct), I am a local repair business so really trying to get found.

Some of my pages shows Schema is OFF?

The pages that it states OFF is the about us and contact page. I have not used the code to show info, is this normal? I am after the page names if I was to search in Google 2UPC it will have rich snippets like I used to with Yoast.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

To check your site schema, you can use Google rich resultss test: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results or their Structured data testing tool: https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/

I am assuming you want to add rating schema. The following schema types support ratings and you can select one of them if they match what the topic of the article that you are writing:
    – Book
    – Course
    – Event
    – Product
    – Recipe
    – Software Application

Please note that there is not standalone star rating Schema available in any SEO plugin.

The old review Schema is not supported by Google:
    https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/09/making-review-rich-results-more-helpful.html

If your posts already have the correct schema set, then there is nothing to worry about and it is just a waiting game until Google decides to include Schema for your website. Please note that although Rank Math adds proper schema to your website, it is ultimately Google’s decision if they want to include them with your website or not. It depends on a lot of factors, authority and backlinks being just the 2 of them.

    Here’s what Google says:

“Google does not guarantee that your structured data will show up in search results, even if your page is marked up correctly according to the Structured Data Testing Tool.”

You can read more about the guidelines on this page:
    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/guides/sd-policies

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    hi,

Thanks for your reply. It is more me not knowing why in my WPadmin pages page, the pages there listed are set to Schema “OFF” on contact page and about page.

Not sure how to and if i should enable Schema on these two pages and why it is OFF.

    thanks

    Hello,

You don’t need to enable Schema in those pages because Schema is used to add extra information to Google about the content on the page (like if it is a post, a recipe, a product…).

In the case of those pages, there is no schema that would fit them so you don’t need to set one.

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hi,
    Great thanks for this.

My main issue also is my main service pages (repairs and it support) pages are not ranking. They used to with Yoast and I can’t see why 🙁

I rank well with computer repairs, well in fact it lists my home page rather than my repairs page, but that’s fine, but when I use the term “it support milton keynes” I rank 6th page on google, but even so, it is linking to my home page. Although I have two separate pages, repairs and it support.

It seems to want my home page all the time 🙁

it maybe due to keywords used on the home page relating to the other pages, but I can’t see how I can avoid that as homepages need all of this, but the actual pages have more content so not sure why Google is doing this.

    https://2upc.co.uk/computer-repairs/
    https://2upc.co.uk/it-support-milton-keynes/

The two pages above are being ignored by Google totally, I have used Search Console, left it long enough. Problem is I am ranking very low for term it support milton keynes” and when it does rank it is my home page, and as the content dosn’t have it support at the start of titles etc, it gets a lower rank.

    Any advice please?

    thanks foe your help.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I searched your page by title and the it seems to appear on first page but still below your homepage, here is a screenshot: https://i.rankmath.com/bfqnfp

Please note that ranking on Google depends on so much more than just your on-page optimization. You could have the perfect article and still struggle to break the top 10 in SERPs. Here are some of the factors Google considers when ranking you:

    1. Your website’s authority

    2. Your content’s quality and how better it is than the other article currently ranking.

    3. How competitive the keyword is.

    4. How many backlinks you have and if they are better than what the other guys ranking for that keyword have.

    5. Your website’s crawlability.

    6. Frequency of new content and content updates.

    7. So much more that there is a dedicated blog post on it by Brian Dean 🙂

    https://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors

I would recommend that you keep at it and work on acquiring more links to break into the top SERPs.

I hope that helps. Please let us know if there’s anything else you need our assistance with. More than happy to help.

    Thank you.
