On this site in the sensitive data area, a GSC verification tag has been automatically added when I set up the site in Rank Math. This hasn’t been manually added in the admin.

How do I remove this tag?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

You can remove the verification tag in Rank Math > General Settings > Webmaster Tools
    GSC Verification Tag

If it’s already empty, could you please confirm if you have also enabled the install Analytics code in General Settings > Analytics?
    Analytics code

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

The GSC verification isn’t added in that area and this isn’t related to the analytics code, I’m talking about the Google Search Console meta verification tag.

    Hello,

That’s odd. The google-site-verification is not generated by default when you first setup Rank Math.

Can you please confirm that this field is empty? WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Webmaster Tools > Google Search Console.

If it is empty and the meta tag is still there, please clear your website and browser cache and see if the issue goes away.

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

Definitely empty, I use this plugin across many different and had never noticed this happening before.

Already tried clearing caches, I’m actually asking because I want to unverify the person who is now an owner in GSC that the plugin set up with this meta tag.

Just added WP admin details to the sensitive data area

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

It seems that the login URL is not working correctly. It throws a 404 error. Please correct that and report back so we can debug the issue further.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, the login details still seem to be incorrect.

Can you please provide the correct login details for us to investigate further?

I have checked the page source of your homepage and I could not find the google-site-verification in the source code.

Can you please check if the issue persists at your end?

    Looking forward to helping you.
