Redirects in sitemap

    Hi,
I’ve been searching for a while to find a solution but can’t seem to get an answer from your knowledge base.

I’ve made a lot of redirection in the past month. And I see that in my sitemap the old URLs are still there.

I started an Excel sheet to sort out the URLs so as to ask for exclusion. However, I noticed that none of the new URLs are present in the site map.

So, I thought of regenerating a new sitemap, but there are no instructions on how to do that.

Also, every time I did a redirect and trashed the old page, RankMath would say that I should redirect the URL, even though I had already redirected it. Are there special settings for this? Please tell me what I can do.

    Thank you,
    Carole

  • Hello Carole,

We apologize for the inconvenience you are facing with the sitemap and redirections in Rank Math. It seems like you are experiencing issues with old URLs still appearing in your sitemap and new URLs not being included.

To regenerate a new sitemap, you can simply visit your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Rank Math > Sitemap Settings. Once there, you can click on the “Save Changes” button to regenerate the sitemap. Here’s a screenshot to guide you:

Regarding the issue where Rank Math prompts you to redirect URLs that have already been redirected, this could be due to a caching issue or a conflict with another plugin. To address this, we recommend clearing your website cache and checking if the issue persists. If it does, you may need to troubleshoot for plugin conflicts by temporarily deactivating other plugins and checking if the issue is resolved.

If you continue to face these issues after regenerating the sitemap and troubleshooting for conflicts, please feel free to reach out to us by opening a support ticket on our community forum.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to resolve these issues for you.

    Kind regards.
