Redirection chain issues

    Need help with resolving SEO Errors.
    I am getting redirect chain and 3xx redirect in sitemap errors.
    There are some old urls which no more exist on the website but still have added redirect to those urls. The urls mentioned in sitemap have reference to only fresh and existing urls but still i get the error.
    How can i resolve this?
